We have had great fun celebrating World Book Day events again this year. We had a visit to P1-4 from author Esther Robinson earlier in the week, to share her book. On Thursday P5 visited the Newtownbutler Playgroup to read stories to the younger children. This is part of our transition plan for our incoming P1 pupils, as the P5 class will be Playground Buddies next year when they are in P6.
On Friday the 3rd, we had our whole school celebration. The children never cease to amaze with their creative costumes, potato character designs and character portraits. The Eco Council were pleased to see a high number of recycled \ reused costumes this year. Local author Laura Quinn read a selection of her Monkey Boo stories to all the classes and judged our potato character competition. The children enjoyed the day and no doubt this all promotes reading and adds to a love of Literature.
