P7 getting ready for their next step with transition work!

30th Apr 2020

This certainly will be the most strangest transition for all the Primary seven students, their parents and families and the teachers/ staff at St. Mary's PS Newtownbutler. It looks likely that we may have had our final times in the Primary 7 class with the current 2019-2020 P7 group. What a fanastic, hard working and amazing class they were. They set high standards and were brilliant role models in and out of the classroom. I'm sure you are all disappointed and we are that it looks like we won't get to say a proper goodbye for the year. Nonetheless- we are fortunate that we had some great moments already this year and this is the way the current situation is. It's hard to take in at your age but you will realise that this has to be done for the safety of all and our communities. Stay safe everyone! I have no doubt that we will have a gathering in the future for the current P7 class and make sure that we give them a proper St. Mary's goodbye and send off. They totally deserve that and we will see how things turn out in the next weeks and months. Over the last few weeks and next few weeks, we will be doing important transition work on the website and Seesaw. It is crucial that all primary seven children are encouraged to get involved in this because it looks likely that the students will be thrown in straight away to their new secondary school lives. This is a massive step in their lives and for the families as they begin a new journey. We at St. Mary's will be there for you online to help you on that journey. Here are some photos of activities and transition work which P7 students have completed so far:
