FIRST SCHOOL IN FERMANAGH TO BE PRESENTED WITH BESPOKE ‘NO-PARKING’ SIGNS

13th Jan 2020

The Board of Governors and School Council have shared concern for some time regarding the safety of pupils around the bus stops morning and afternoon. Drivers have been asked repeatedly, not to park in the bus stops at these times. It was for this reason that the Parish gave us access to the church carpark, so that those travelling by car are dropped off and collected via the carpark gate. Only those children who walk or travel by bus should use the pedestrian steps.

The Police and Community Partnership today presented two bespoke no-parking signs, featuring cartoon characters wearing the St Mary’s uniform. We are privileged to be the first school in Fermanagh to receive such signs. They were presented by the Vice-Chairperson of our Board of Governors, Mr Thomas O’Reilly, who is also Chair of the PCP. Two of our P7 School Council members spoke on behalf of the pupils, to express thanks and explain why the signs are needed as reminders not to park in the bus stop.
