Mental Health Week 2020 in KS2

The Primary 7 class took part in a number of activities to mark Mental Health Week across the world (3rd Feb to 9th Feb). We listened and asked questions during an online video seminar set up by NICCY and had class discussions on what strategies we can use to help our mental health. The pupils also looked at being brave and examples of this such as the video based on the Greatest Showman. Being brave really meant being yourself. It is important that we provide our young people with these coping skills in school and at home. In our ever growing technological and busy world, we need our children and adults to be aware of the importance of mental health. It is something that should never be taken for granted! Please discuss this with your children and strategies that can be used such as: walking the dog, meditation, yoga, meeting up with a friend, spending less time on social media or gaming/ internet devices or reading a book.
