Heathy Kids Day

17th May 2022

All classes enjoyed a taster session with Healthy Kidz, when they had an opportunity to try a range of activities to promote health and wellbeing.

As part of our health and wellbeing initiative, we held a health and fitness day with Healthy Kidz, a physical activity social enterprise. The inclusive programme involved non-sport specific activities. Some of the aims of Healthy Kidz are to get every child moving, to provide for a healthy mind and body, to help children grow in confidence and self-belief and as a result attain better results in education. Essentially the aim of this health and wellbeing initiative is for the for children to engage with others and become leaders in a healthy community.

This is part of an overall strategy by our school and during the past year we have linked with outside agencies and used staff expertise to provide a range of health and wellbeing initiatives to pupils, staff, parents and the wider community. There have been fitness challenges, after school clubs, the Daily Mile, the creation of Zen Dens, the teaching of resilience building strategies through programmes such as Neuronimo, circuits for adults, Fare Share meals and snacks provided for pupils. The school also promotes a growth mindset, by incorporating ‘The 5 Steps to Wellbeing’ and nurture into our ethos.
