Environmental Youth Speak Success
We are incredibly proud of three talented pupils who recently represented our school at the prestigious FODC Environmental Youth Speak Final, held in Omagh.
A Fantastic Achievement
Anna, Claire and Eabha earned their place at the final after the whole class representations had impressed judges in the earlier stages of the competition. On the day, they delivered their speech with confidence, passion and enthusiasm — ultimately securing an outstanding second place finish!
The standard of competition was exceptionally high, with schools from across Counties Fermanagh and Tyrone taking part. The girls did themselves, their families and our entire school community extremely proud.
Inspiring Environmental Action
Their speech focused on the importance of reusing and recycling, clearly explaining why caring for our environment matters and offering practical tips on how everyone can make small changes to help protect our planet.
Well done also to our P7 class and our Eco Council for inspiring the speech.
Pictures from the event show the girls confidently performing their speech and engaging the audience with their important environmental message.
Awards and Recognition
As runners-up, the girls were presented with a beautiful trophy by Barry McElduff, Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council.
In addition to the trophy, each girl received a special goodie bag, and the school was delighted to receive a bird house — a wonderful addition that will support wildlife in our school grounds.
Thank You
A sincere thank you to the girls’ parents for accompanying them to Omagh and supporting them on the day. Your encouragement and support are greatly appreciated.
We are so proud of Anna, Claire and Eabha for their hard work, teamwork and dedication to promoting environmental responsibility. Well done, girls!
