30 days of June: P7 memories! Day 8

8th Jun 2020

Day 8 is going back to the P7 class and involves our fantastic trip to the home of Ulster Rugby (Kingspan Stadium, Belfast). We have to count ourselves lucky that we got this amazing opportunity with just a few other schools in Northern Ireland. Thank you to Conor Caughey and his family for alerting us to the competition and their support- we appreciate it!

The children took an early bus trip to Belfast, saw the famous Kingspan facilities, received rugby coaching sessions alongside other schools and from top Ulster rugby coaches. To top it off, the class then met and had a Q and A with the Ulster rugby coach and players along with some autographs and photos. What a day! We did get a bit of a soaking but I still think we all went home very happy.

Then to finish, John Cooney (the rising Ulster and Ireland rugby star) came into the building and spent invaluable time with the children signing jerseys and chatting to them. I hope the children were as buzzing as Mr. Sludden that day. Even Jack got a good chat with Dan McFarland and how Modern Tyres helped sort him out for a match one day.

Cooney, Cooney, Cooney! Sorry, I'm getting carried away now haha.
