As part of their exciting Maths Week Ireland celebrations, P5 pupils rose to the challenge of creating a magic square using IZAK9 cubes, where every row, column, and diagonal had to total the same number. But it wasn’t just about numbers! Drawing on strategies from the Beyond Bricks programme, the children showed fantastic emotional regulation, staying calm and focused even when the puzzle got tricky. They supported each other with encouragement and motivation, proving that great teamwork and a growth mindset are just as important as great maths skills. A colourful, collaborative, and clever start to a week full of mathematical magic!
